25 Yard Dash, 1/4 Mile, 6.2 Miles... DONE!

We arrived in Charleston on Thursday evening to a HUGE rainstorm... we finally made our way to our BEAUTIFUL rental house on the Isle of Palms! It was beautiful with marble showers, huge jacuzzi tubs, just to name a few...
Friday was FOR THE KIDS... Mary Claire's 25 yard dash and Clay & Kathryn's 1/4 mile run!

Carbing up with Mac-N-Cheese before their races...

Posing with the bibs on...

MC too!

Before their races... there was a huge festival. Farm animals petting zoo, camel riding, inflatables and more... John was thoroughly entertained by this tanker thingy. Apparently he it was an honor to have allowed him "inside"... I didn't quite get it, but he LOVED it!
Off to the races...

MC finished her 25 yard dash in a FLASH! Here she is with her medal! So proud.

John escorted Miss Kathryn on her 1/4 mile run... he thought that it would be an easy brisk 1/4 mile... NOT. Apparently Kathryn kicked it in to high gear and John had to actually R-U-N!

Proud of their runs and medals!!! Moms and Dads were super proud too!

Saturday... the RACE was on! We woke up at the CRACK of dawn... left the house at 6:45 AM for a 8:00 AM race start...

Golly... I was tired.

I got REALLY tired when I was approaching the bridge...
It was the lonnnnngest 6.2 miles ever. The bridge was steep and long and the last mile seemed to take FOREVER... but it was a super fun race with 40,000 other peeps.
All that I can say is... Thank goodness for the Holiday Inn post race. :)
Here is me and Amy post race at a bar in the Isle of Palms... can't remember the name of it! She even made a dancing debut on stage! :) Fun times.
Already planning for next year... the Bridge Run is on John's birthday. Same place, same time, MORE training...
